Hijacked

English has borrowed some Spanish words, the problem with this though is that they forgot to borrow the meaning too.

Below I will give a “borrowed” word, a little background, and then the Spanish meaning.

Examples:

Chi-chis (like the restaurant)

Slang for breasts, boobs, tits,

Raza (like MeCHA) check out what FOX news says about the group MeCHA and its use of the word ‘raza

Our people, our town, or community, our friends, (not like the English ‘race’)

Macho (A sexist pig when used in English)

A man. A responsible man who takes care of his family.
