I want a lot of things I don’t really need. Today, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I want a digital camara.
I want to take pictures of Mexicans in Columbus. 10 years ago there were very few Mexicans here, 15 years ago none. And it is really cool to see the change. I would’ve liked to have taken a picture of the house in the suburbs I saw. The one next to all the other houses built during the same 1970′s development, but this one a bright pink. Not only bright pink, but a Mexican Flag hanging and a big truck parked outside with the cab window covered with an Aztec calendar and the words “Orgullo Mexicano” in old english gothic lettering.
I want to take a pictures inside the trailer park hidden near the airport. Hundreds of trailers making a little Mexican town.
I want to take pictures of all the “Taco Trailers”. Trucks-Trailers that park in industrial areas around town selling Tacos and tortas.
I want to document all of it. I want to publish the pictures here. I want a digital camara to do it.
In fact I want a lot of things.
I have a question. One of the books on your list is “Acambaro: Frontier Settlement on the Tarascan-Aztec Border.” Is that Acambaro, Guanajuato?
Que tal con los Tarascos?
Yes, I believe so. Y de los Tarascos…pues es que soy Tarasca y quiero aprender de mi gente.
