I just found out from The Chicano Law Institute that the 2005 Latino Law Summit is being held here in Columbus, Ohio. It seems that October 20th, The Ohio State University Mortiz College of Law will be hosting the event.

Latino Law Summit 2005 will cultivate an intellectual discussion on contemporary Latino issues including: immigration policy, the Latino role in the political process, and education and economic attainment. Summit 2005 brings together distinguished legal scholars in the Latino community to share their insight on the Latino experience. Join the Hispanic Law Students Association at the Moritz College of Law as we increase awareness of these Latino issues and help develop an agenda for action.

Today, I spent this afternoon at the Ohio State house where in celebration of Mexico’s indpendence (¡Viva México!) we raised the Mexican flag, sang the anthem, watched some folkloric dances, it was enjoyable. Too bad we didn’t have a grito.
